Many people may not want to switch to Linux Systems for the simple reason that a program they run on Windows on a regular basis is not Linux Compatible, and this is where "Wine" Comes in.
so... what is Wine?
The Developers of Wine Describe it as "an Open Source implementation of the Windows API on top of X, OpenGL, and Unix. Basically what there saying is that Wine is a Open Source (Free, Which anyone can edit) Program for Unix Based Systems (Linux included) Which allows you to run Windows Programs without having windows installed. Think of Wine as a Translator, translating the windows language to unix language.
So Basically With Wine you can run most windows based programs without the need for dual-booting on your computer, and with literally thousands of compatible programs and even games supported by wine, the chances are, the program you use so much will work.
